Celebrating community partnerships
Engaging in real-life activities is an important part of the curriculum at Regent College, with 100% of learners actively involved in volunteering and work placements.
Opportunities to participate in practical activities are made possible by the strong partnerships Regent College has developed with our local and extended communities.
With the academic year nearing a close, learners were keen to give back to the local providers who had offered volunteering opportunities and work placements over the past year. They chose to host a special gathering to say thank you.
Collaborating closely with their tutors, learners organised and delivered a professional afternoon tea event at the Apedale Energy Centre, in Stoke-on-Trent, with all food and drinks prepared by the learners.
The event was a huge success!
“We were incredibly proud to see our learners host such a successful afternoon tea event. It was a lovely reflection of the confidence, teamwork and independence they are developing through volunteering and real-life learning opportunities made possible through the partnerships with local providers.”

“Masood has been polite to other volunteers and has been helping by assisting his staff bringing cups of tea to people. He has been helping with the hangers and doesn’t need instructing when he can see the hanger bin is full. Masood has developed in his confidence and is attempting to communicate with more of the volunteers at the shop.”
