Work experience and supported internship placements for Regent College learners
If you want to find a job when you leave Regent College, we will support you to gain experience in a working environment. This could be by going on a work experience placement or by doing a longer term Supported Internship.
What is work experience?
- Work experience is when you go to work in a local business and gain experience doing a specific job or a variety of jobs
- Work experience can last between 1-12 weeks
- Work experience is voluntary
- It is a great way to feel what is like to be in a working environment and to learn specific skills while there. We call this ‘learning on the job’.

What is a Supported Internship?
A Supported Internship is like work experience, but you regularly work at a business for at least 6 months, and sometimes longer.
You will receive regular pay whilst completing your internship.
How will Regent College find the right work experience for me?
The team at Regent College have great relationships with a variety of local business partners.
The businesses offer learners volunteering, work experience and internship placements.
There is a wide range of opportunities to choose from including woodwork, gardening, cooking, catering, hospitality, retail and packing. The team will work with you and find the placement that will give you the best opportunity to achieve your goals.
